Ceiling sheetrock sag fix

this house was moved onto property maybe 30 years ago,the section of ceiling where two parts of the house were attached has begun to sag. On removing the mud/plaster covering the sheetrock we discovered that a 10"wide area had been sheetrocked with 1" wide pieces not nailed into a 2x4. (The sagging has caused cracking the width of the room) This 10" area spans the width of the room 19ft.. IS there any way to fix this without putting in a beam? Thanks

Ceiling sheetrock sag fix

You could cut everything out from Joist to Joist and replace it with rock that is attached to the joists.
