hi all, i'm kinda new to the construction world and have a question. I'm gonna be building a house with different ceiling heights in almost every room; 10', 9' etc... its a single story. i wanted to know how would i go about framing up the walls as far as in the heights. do i have to make 2 walls together with different heights? i know the walls have to be the same height in order for the ceiling joist to go straight across. i do know how to frame, its just i've never seen this part done before with the different ceiling heights. i'm use to just 8' ceilings all the way around. if someone can give me a lil know how i'm pretty sure i can figure the rest out. thanks
thats the way the rooms are on the plans. i do want to make the rooms all the same height, but the guy thats gonna cut the roof told me that it will change the pitch of the roof if i did it like that. he said he still can cut it for me, but he would rather do it according to the blueprints. the plans have the master bedroom at 9' great room and dinning at 10' bedroom 3 at 9'4" kitchen and den at 8' entry way at 12'.
