Hello all,
I got a call to do a home repair the other day. What I found kind of amazed me. Somewhere, in the back of my head, a little voice (careful, I haven't flipped yet) is telling me I heard of it before but it still seems unreal. I've only inspected from the garage and the outside back of the house. The ceder plank is install directly over the studs only! Now, all the studs are rotting off at the bottom.
My question is, was this ever accepted construction technique? The customer is only asking me to remove the bottom plank an replace all the studs I find rotted. Seems like it could be the whole house!
Your thoughts?
Thanks, Thom
