I would think once dry you should be fine.

yep, no problem, as long as it is dry when you are caulking.

What are you caulking? The end of the boards where it meets the trim?

yes. We did caulk even though the weather was drizzly. the prob. we ran into was the 1st 2 boards closest to the ground caulk washed out. other than that everything still looks good. thank you for your reply
