Can I frame over an existing tile floor?

Can I build a non load bearing partition wall to divide a large room with an existing tile floor (tile on concrete) without cutting out the tile? If so, how should the bottom plate be fastened to the tile floor? Tiles are 12x12. Fastening top plate not a problem. Thanks for any advice.:)

Either drill holes and use TAPCON screws or use liquid nails. I recently finished a basement that has hydronic heat---No holes in that concrete!!! Liquid nails did the job.--Mike--

i agree with mike plus having a slight cushion between bottom plate and tile is a plus

One other thing to add, place your tapcons in the mortar joints, it will be much easier to drill rather than drilling the tile.

Thanks...

...tapcons in drilled holes thru mortar if possible it is. Will also put 1/8"x2" foam packing ribbon I have under bottom plate.
