Building steps for a work shop

I'm building a work shop from plans that is 16' X 24'. I have the four walls framed, and am ready to install the ridge board, rafters and joists. The question is, do I install the exterior OSB siding first, and then the roof, or the roof first? If I install the 1/2" OSB siding first, my thinking is that the birds mouth of the rafters, will have 1/2 " less solid surface to rest on top of the double top plate. I can't find any clear answer on this. Thxs, Michael

Doesn't matter either way. If you don't install the sheathing first you make the seatcut on the birdsmouth 3-1/2". If you install the sheathing first you make the seatcut 4". You can also keep the seatcut 3-1/2" even with the sheathing on first. There is plenty of bearing for the seatcut. Don't worry about it at all about the 1/2".
