Building a playhouse

I want to build a simple playhouse for my kids and I'm pretty sure it will improve their creativity and keep them busy. I've found these plans but I also need a third party opinion. It looks like an weekend project to me, but I'm stuck at choosing the materials. The thing is I'm willing to spend any amount money, if I know my kids are safe, but there are so many alternatives that I really don't what to choose. If you have built something similar, I could use your feedback.

I would think treated timber as per the plans would be good. Also, you can probably buy kits these days.

You could use lap board timber for the walls - like a shed , and felt for the roof?

Building a playhouse

I want to build it from scratch, but I don't have much experience in woodworking.

Then just look up shed plans or better yet go buy a book on how to build a shed.
A playhouse and a shed are built exacly the same.
Same rules apply, needs to built high enough off the ground so the siding does not rot, roof needs to be leak free, better to have over hangs on the roof so the siding last longer.
