Building outdoor decks


is it better to use screws or nails ? will the treated wood warp after installation and how long do i wait before sealing ?

screws, yes it warps, about a year for treated wood

Just be sure to use screws approved for use in pressure treated wood.

And make sure you're using NAILS for structural applications UNLESS you are using structural screws (not decking screws)

Screws for the decking, nails for the framing.

You can get treated wood that can be sealed right away. It will be labeled KDAT (kiln dried after treatment) and the cost is close to Cedar.
