Building a floor: Joist hangers and bolts

Hey everyone,
it's my first time posting here so sorry if i'm not being clear or using the right terms.

Basically, my upstairs living room overlooks my downstairs den, who's ceiling comes all the way up (see image).
I want to extend the 2nd storey floor and make a bedroom up there.

My first issue is making the floor. I have tried to draw out what I plan on doing, I hope the drawing is clear.

My main concern is attaching a 2x8 support to the existing wall (see image) using steel bolts, and then using steel joist hangers to support the joists.

what is the best way of supporting the 2x8 beam that will support the joists?

on one side, i can bolt it in to an existing beam, that should not be a problem.
but on the other side, i can only bolt it in to the existing wall and 2x8 piece that is there as framing for the patio door. (as seen in image)
will this be enough, or do i need something more to support it from underneath?

Will this work? what kind of bolts and hangers should I be looking to use?
What other ways might work better?

Sorry if my description is not clear enough, feel free to ask any questions.

Thanks a lot!

my next question is, what is the best way of supporting the 2x8 beam that will support the joists?
