What size ridge....what is the exact span? Is the sheathing flush to the top of the top plate?

If you tell me the answers to my questions....I can give you the exact length. Why buy longer than needed rafters and waste money.

Joe. I am not sure of all your questions. Our walls are 8 ft high. And cottage is 18x18. We are using 2x12 rafters. They will be 24 inches on center. It is a 12 12 pitch. Open cathedral ceilings inside cottage. We need a roof cap for ventilation and a vented soffit on bottom. This is our first building we have built. Thanks.

And the ridge board is 20' giving us 1' overhang on each end.

What is the width if the ridge beam? Does the outside measure exactly 18'?.

Who designed the roof? Do you have plans?

The ridge beam is a 20' 2x12. And the plywood would cover the entire 20 feet. So we will have a 1 foot overhang from the cottage on both sides. I hope i answered your question. Thanks for the help.
