i need to rebuild a small brick wall, maybe 80 sq ft max, 2 bricks thick. i have most of the old, recycled bricks and then will buy some to replace the ones i couldn't recycle.
most of the masonry work i have done consisted of pouring concrete and then some tuckpointing of mortar into an old brick wall. never really laid bricks.
anything i should know? considering that most of the bricks i am using are recycled, should i go with a custom mortar mix (like i did for tuckpointing because the bricks were old and the mortar was not supposed to expand) or can i just go with premixed bags? anything else, any tricks?
