box gutters?

So more on my planned addition. its in the greek revival style and will be complimentary to the original structure, and I'm intending to build box gutters to achieve the distinctive look of the eves. would love to hear from anyone with experience with these. I understand the basics of design and construction, and plan to use copper for the liners, but unsure what to use for the lookouts and liner boards? treated lumber? dimensions? also how to achieve the grade necessary? shims on the lookouts or cuts? I'm sure some folks will call me crazy for this.

Keep us posted with picture updates. You are probably correct that folks (including me) think you are definitely taking the more labor intensive approach.

Be sure to not use PT lumber against the copper.

Copper can be used with treated lumber. Aluminum can't. Copper is the primary ingredient in lumber treatment compounds.

Good catch.

I am so used to not mixing metals because of the potential issues on roof valley and flashings that I completely overlooked that.

As complicated as things have become, it's easy to miss something.

You could hold the boxes level if they're tall enough to accommodate sloping gutter within their depth. Or am I just giving your own idea back to you?
