Block Wall


in theory, there's no difference between theory & practice,,, in practice, there is,,, how high did you have in mind ? 4 or 5 floors shouldn't be a problem,,, the problem will be cinder blocks below grade because, if you do the nec dampproofing your bldg code requires, eventually the foundation will rot,,, suggest you, at minimum, use concrete block.

As suggested, technically, there is no limit. Local codes usually determine what is allowed.
