Best way to fix corner posts on a dormer

Looking to put the dormer posts in next week and am not sure how to fix the posts..! I have two options fix them to the wall plate but then they will be beneath the new floor joists as the joists are sitting on large timber trimmers that are attached to the wall plate by brackets.

Option two fix them into the trimmers but am not sure if building regs would allow this..? and if its strong enough..!

Anyone got any ideas, i was thinking about using a joist hanger or an angle cleat..!

Cheers
