Best way to fasten wood gusset

I have a roof truss that I need to repair. I have added the 2x4 cut piece back with Simpson's metal mending plates (which I know is not good enough). So I sistered two ten foot 2x4 on each side, and now I have three 2x4s.

I glued the sisters to the middle piece using Loctite PL Premium construction adhesive, in addition I used 3" 10d nails from both sides spaced at every 4 to 6 inches.

I am wondering if this is enough, or should I drill 3/8" or 1/2" holes through all three pieces of wood and use bolts and nuts as well?

If bolts and nuts makes even a stronger repair what spacing is good? Every 12" or 18"?

Depends on where the break is.
It could be stressed or just floating.
