Question

Best screws to use with an impact driver?

Obviously this is situational, and my situation is that I'm adding some nailers to the framing of a closet system prior to drywall going up. That being said, I've tried 3" drywall screws (they were here) and the driver just stripped the screws and turned the tip of my bit into what looks like a golf pencil. What would be the best screw for this type of application and use with an impact driver?

Thanks!

Robertsons. Square-head, #2, about 3" long give the best performance we find for framing etc. Adjust the torque, though.

Deck screws also seem to work well.
