best method for remortaring joints - block wall

walls were built in 1965. some of the vertical joints on 4" cinder block are separating. Old mortar needs to be removed and replaced. There are probably 10 places that need to be redone. I am talking about 8" tall so not too much but both sides of wall need to be fixed. So if I do the math I am talking about a total of 13 ft. What is the best method to do this? What is the best way to remove old grout?

Thanks

Can be done with an angle grinder, or lump hammer and plugging chisel.

Pawl is right, an angle grinder works great. And the blades are fairly inexpensive. As for remortaring, I like to use a grout bag. It's looks the same as the frosting bags that cake decorators use. I get them at Home Depot and like places for about five bucks.

Tuckpointing restoration 101. See if the library has some guidebooks.
