Best decking options?

My husband and I want to build a deck on the back of our house but we are not sure which materials to use. We live in Western Maryland and the deck would get the afternoon sun. It will be 12' by 12' and about 8' above the ground. We were leaning towards composite decking but after reading some horror stories about that now we are not sure. Any suggestions? Thanks!!

Your welcome - Yea, we both spend too much time here. I hope you get some business from it. Me, I take as much as I try to give back.

Well, I don't have any intentions of drumming up business from this site. (we are actually swamped as it is)....
I am just very 'pro-DIYer'...and I enjoy helping someone if I am able to.....

Owning your own home is a wonderful experience... but ....actually making it into your own home ..... is a really special & great experience.
