before building....

I finally went to the inspector today and decided to build my own place. I went to a architect thru a mutual friend and he told me he don't normally do small projects but he will draw up the 3 plans(electrical, wind, and floor/foundation) for $1500, $500 each for a 1500 sq. ft. house....is this a good price? Also, does these plans constitute how to build everything like my foundation?...i mean.......will these plans tell me to do a slab or crawl space or do I have to tell the architect...or is that something that I decide on my own?

You should tell your architect that you want a complete set of plans that the Bld Dept will accept. What state do you live in. In N Y you must have County Health Dept approval BEFORE you do anything. check wilt the Bld Insp see what his requirements are.
$ 1500 is real cheap make sure it meets the inspectors requirements. good luck
