Bearing on concrete block wall

Private home inspector goes in the crawl space, we did 8 in block foundation walls and left a pocket for a drop sill to sit in. Underneath the drop sill is a piece of treated 2*6 for a mudsill, and under that is conc brick. What is code for bearing that weight? Home inspector is saying that we don't meet code

A steel lintel should be used. The deflection should match the block. A 2X6 on the flat will not do.

Bearing on concrete block wall

If what your refering to is something along the lines of a beam pocket, then the only material that can (& should) be used to shim the beam is solid masonry or steel shims. I've seen many jobs tagged by inspectors because cedar shims, wood blocks, etc... were set under the beams temporarily, & the carpenters "forgot" to replace them. It's much easier to shim when setting the beam than to replace the shims AFTER the beam is loaded with weight.
