Bathroom glass block removal issue

Hi all...very new to these forums, but I was looking for some help with my bathroom renovation.

I'm doing a full renovation down to the studs of my bathroom (house was built in 1944) and I want to install only two rows of glass blocks (preferably the top 2 rows) and close off the rest. If I made a T in there w/2x4's (one going horizontal to the floor, and the other going perpendicular), putting plywood & Tyvek on the outside, and insulation & drywall on the inside...I would then have someone come fill in the outside with bricks. Is that good enough?

That plan should look pretty bad from the outside.

Why not remove/renew all the wood in the window and start over using glass blocks again to fill the entire area?

I feel the window area is a bit bigger then I would like. It's very cold to stand next to in the Ohio Winter...even with hot water on you. It's great for letting natural light in during the day, but I preferably don't want it that large.

The outside of the home will never look like anything more than a boarded up window if you do what you are wanting to do. If you're happy with that look then I suppose you can do it.

Well I would brick up over the plywood and Tyvek. Of course I will never match the bricks that were used per say, but it shouldn't look too bad. Still leaving 2 rows of glass blocks though...just at the top.

Thanks for your opinions. Always good to get another take on it.

install a new acrylic block window,less heat loss should make standing next to it much more comfortable
