Basements

 Can I dig the hole myself for my basement and then get the contractor to finish it from there? (I'm trying to save money, I was quoted 25,000)

This $25,000, was it just to dig the hole? or was it to dig and put in a foundation, or footings?

Is there hauling of excess soil involved?

What size is the building, how much cut? What type of soil? Where are you located?

I have lots of questions.:o

Unless you are experienced at excavation equipment and procedures I would advise against doing it yourself.

Tom
