Basement Window Well Problem

I have a basement window well that fills with water during a heavy rain. The water tops the window. I do not need the window. Can I glue a 3/4" piece of plywood over the outside of the window and then fill in the well with dirt? What adhesive should I use?

I'd correct the reason the window well is filling up and leave the window alone.
Are gutters over flowing into the well? Is the grading incorrect? Are the leaders too short?
You need to keep the water away from the foundation.

The well should have a drain in the bottom draining down to the weeping tile system.

Basement Window Well Problem

I am selling the house and want to list it soon. There is no other water problem. Cellar is dry except for this one well. There may be grading issues but I have neither the time nor the money to regrade. Looking for a quick and simple solution.

Mortar in glass blocks.

That will be cheap and avoid the necessary grading and leave that part to the new owner.
