Basement Window and Suspended Ceiling
I am in the process of finishing my basement.
My plan is to use suspended ceiling, however in the basement there are two small windows. They are high up where the top part of the window is at the ceiling line. See the attached picture of one of the windows.
Since suspended ceiling is about 3" to 6" below the joists, how can I deal with the windows? Any ideas are much appreciated.
you can use the outside corner where the window opening starts and put a vertical grid that that lets the drop ceiling turn up at that spot like a little wall. it could be brought into the room more to work better and allow more light through/ use the drywall you have there with more reinforcement added above it(framing) and extend the drywall into the room a little more then glue ceiling panels up to the drywall to keep the ceiling grid look and not be below the top of the window when done.
