Basement shower and mortar

I'm installing a angle acrylic shower in my basement. The base has adjustable legs to level but the directions indicate I have to use mortar underneath afterwards. Issue is they are not telling me anything except mortar. I was wondering if I should use concrete (sand mix only) or mortar mix for blocks.

Also any tips for installing a shower pan with mortar. My floor isn't 100% level but I leveled the pan with the adjustable legs.

Basement shower and mortar

Premixed mortar, the kind used for blocks is what there suggesting.
The mortar is not for leveling, it's to give the bottom of the pan 100% contact to support it.
Without it, it may crack from flexing.
I'd first lay down some 6 mil. plastic or tar paper.
