Basement leak

Have a leak in my basement at the wall/floor joist. Only appears to be a foot or two (maybe less) wide. Is hydraulic cement the way to go? Realize I need to chisel a dovetail crack for the cement, how is this achieved in such a tight spot?

you're much better off excavating outside, referencing the crack, & coating it w/fiber-reinforced asphalt roofing cement protected by an impermeable membrane.

hydraulic will leak again while permitting intruding water to penetrate to the depth of the crack
