I recently went and looked at a house for purchase i really like house and land and location but... i don't have enough construction knowledge and im afraid its going to be a problematic house you guys give me some advice.

original house built in 1975 was a "look out" basement house.

add on built in 80's 1.5 story so they say looks like 2 story to me??

so it now has... unfinished basement part of house, looks like u buried all but the roof of a house, and attached 1.5 story or 2 story addition on a slab

when in the house there is no steps to basement you walk in the front door of living room and floor is flat right into kitchen which is part of basement.

Realtor said owner had leak. There is water damage on flooring of all of main floor worst seems at junction of slab/ basement where kitchen and living meet.
there is a small crack/ leak on back ( short wall of basement house)

is there major problems with this design??

all info about this type of design appreciated

This is why they have Home Inspectors. They have the experience and knowledge(hopefully) to let you know what's going on with the house.
They also see the house.
It's impossible to give you an opinion without seeing the structure.
But one leak does not make a bad design. But it also doesn't preclude one.
