Basement floor without concrete???
Does building code allow a basement floor without concrete? For multiple reasons, I need to remove the existing concrete. I would like to install rigid foam to insulate, but then ceiling height issues cause problems. Can I install rigid foam with a OSB top, sealed between the 3" rigid and concrete walls?

You can do anything you want, it's your house.
Not the best idea, though.

If you worry about resale or codes, it could be a bad decision.

Many codes require the basement slab to have 3 5/8" contact with the walls to assure resistance to the slab sliding on the footing.

If you do not care, you can just pour the slab to the ceiling height you want and accept the facto you will have a small curb.

If you pour a slab, put down a 10 mil poly vapor barrier to help control humidity coming from the soil.
