Basement Finishing

1 Attachment(s)
Hey,

Not a professional, but the unrenovated basement was getting a bit annoying, so am out to finish it myself. I've read some stuff on the internet about how and what to do.

Ive attached a picture of what I have done so far, does it seem correct?

Here is what I have done:

1. Removed the old insulation
2. Applied a sheet of .5" insulation sheets (fomular) to the concrete walls w/ the help of specific adhesive, and taped the ends.
3. Sealed bottoms with expanding foam

Am I leaving anything out?

Too late now, but I would have used 2" EPS foam boards. Otherwise looks good to me.

since you did not use a thick enough foam board (need 2" to keep the exterior warm enough not to condense water vapor moving through the wall) you are best to spray foam another 3" to this wall.

Spray foam, or the insulating foam that comes in bundles?

Oh yeah...and make watching 'Holmes on Homes' a part of your education. I feel that if you had taken that measure, you'd have done things differently.
