Basement Bathroom Insulatation/VB?
Hi.
I'm in the process of finishing my basement and I'm including a full bathroom. I'm wanting to use Roxul Sound insulation for sound proofing as much as possible in the basement. I live in Winterpeg Manitoba if this helps. My question is how best to seal or not to seal the bathroom. I'm planning on doing a tub with tile around tub as well as tiles on floor and tiles behind sink wall (possible opposite wall not sure yet). I have heard people saying to use 6mil poly and greenboard and others say not to use it. The image link below is my bathroom design idea. http://flemingds.com/uploads/bath.jpg This image link below is for the bathroom ceiling. Not sure if I need option#2 or not. http://flemingds.com/uploads/bath-ceiling.jpg What do you guys suggest I do. Thanks |
Look at your location in here:
http://www.buildingscience.com/docum...gs?full_view=1 Notice the vapor barrier and rigid insulation. Very good reading. http://apps1.eere.energy.gov/consume.../mytopic=11810 Green`board is no longer used in wet locations. It turns to mush with a vapor barrier behind it. Be safe, G |
