Basement air duct and plumbing fsoffit framing

Hi

I am planing out how to frame my air ducts and plumbing on my ceiling. I am thinking sbout using metal framing rather than wood for this. Any thoughts on this?

Also i am wondering if there is any problem including part of my gasline in this soffit? I live in ontario?

You should be fine. Make sure the gas shut off is not buried in the framing, or if it is, make an access panel for it.
