Attaching wooden ceiling to steel Ibeams?!

My new house has unusual construction. It is built more like a commercial building - with steel Ibeams rather than wooden joists. The three bedrooms have accoustical tile dropped ceilings. I'd like to replace those with beadboard paneling. Can anyone tell me the best way to go about this? Thank you

Saw something on this Old House this week with a Habitat house the timber framer(Chuck Benson) did. The ceiling panels look like pine paneling but are really suspended ceiling panels. Look up their website and check for the vendors.

Wood furring strips (size depending on steel joist spacing) could be attached to the steel beams with self drilling machine thread screws like these.

Grabber sells a number of varieties.

You'd need a substrate like sheetrock or plywood, but a wood ceiling could then be fixed to the substrate and the furring strips.

I appreciate your prompt reply! One question: is the procedure the same for using beadboard paneling? Any thoughts welcome.

Please clarify this question. Is the procedure the same as what??? Are you asking about how to attach beadboard?

Use the screws to attach the furring strips and then attach the bead-board to the furring strips.

as for the dropped ceiling that Bensonwood homes uses, they are custom made by Bensonwood homes, you won't find those form any vendor.
