We just had our back concrete stairs replaced that lead into our basement. On either side of the stairs are concrete walls that extend about 2 feet above ground level. The inspector says that we need some kind of hand rail that will not catch on peoples clothes because of fire codes and has to be 36" above ground level all the way down the stairs. There are three stairs leading into the back door. I would appreciate any suggestions that you may have. We have no idea what kind of railing they are talking about. Thanks in advance for any ideas!
