Vinyl wall? Vinyl siding?
Are you building the addition?
Already built & putting up siding?

are you referring to vinyl siding over OSB? If so you must remove the siding and fasten your framing to the house framing . You must install a pocket stud inside the existing wall so you have something to fasten the end stud to.this is the correct way to tie in an addition. BOB

you could install blocking to fasten the top plate, the best bet would to post a picture of the area in question, then we can better advise you. BOB
