Assembling double MicroLam header

In the past I've used PL adhesive and nails to build LVL headers. Is there any benefit to drilling holes and using bolts instead of nails or is this only necessary when building a triple or quadruple LVL header?

Assembling double MicroLam header

To answer my own question for anyone who has the same question in the future.
I just got back from the lumberyard and asked the same question. He said only nails, no adhesive. The nails need to be in a specific nailing pattern dictated by the software, however.
Apparently, bolts are only needed when quadrupling. I don't know why you don't need glue, but those are the specs for LVL/microlam.
