Was asbestos ever used in roof insulation and if so, how do we check if the insulation in our roof contains asbestos? I've read that you send off a sample to a lab and they check it for you.
I've got the impression that it was only used in making stuff fire-retardent, so maybe it isn't found in roof insulation but the resources I've come across so far havn't been too helpful.
Thanks in advance.
It was used to insulate everything from pipes to air duct to stove doors to flooring tile. Find the age of the home, and contact a company that does this sort of thing... they can give you some info based on age, but have them check it. It is nothing to play around with... as a remodeling contractor, I wouldn't even mess with it.
