Anderson Slider Doors

We ordered Anderson slider doors, wood clad with white vinyl on exterior, interior is wood painted white and white grilles inside the insulated windows. They were delivered yesterday and when we checked them the grilles facing inside were white but the grilles facing the outside were a "greenish beige". Although we don't recall adding the option of "SmartSun LowE" it is on the order form and wonder if that has caused the greenish tint. Has anyone else heard of or experienced this? In the event we do decide to go with another brand, does anyone have any pros and/or cons on any other sliders? Would surely appreciate any input.

Anderson Slider Doors

i cannot imagine them painting the grill with two different colors, it is likely the glass coloring it, i should think.

Thank you for your input...I can't imagine that they would do that either. Nonetheless the grilles facing the outside are a light green. If the green is coming from the tint I would think they would have the courtesy to inform the buyer that "guess what - we will give you smartsun, but your girlles will be green". Not very nice of them. We're trying to rebuild from Hurricane Ike and were about 2 weeks from completion but now the delay of reordering them will set us back another 3-4 weeks I suppose. Thanks again for your response.

It's not a Manufacture Defect. Andersen does make a two tone grilles. What does your paperwork say when you ordered the Patio Door, do you still have a signed off agreement? Low-E/ and SmartSun can tint the out side glass a little, never seen a greenish beige? made be a very light brownish or alittle darker tint than normal double pane clear glass. How did you decide on Smart Sun glass-did you see a sample of the glass before you ordered?

Thank you for your responce. No we did not see a sample of the window to see the tint and quite frankly I really don't recall asking for the SmartSun. The sliders are on our deck where the sun doesn't really hit as much as some other areas of our house where I would have wanted to have something like that but we didn't. I didn't know that Anderson does and will make 2 tone or color grilles - that could possibly be the problem then. Thanks again.
