Aluminum solar panel frame ideas wanted

.

I'm wanting to build an aluminum solar panel frame and need some ideas.

Below is a solar panel made of wood, if only I could make one out of aluminum channel with a glass top or knew someone who could make this for me or tell me how.

If anyone has an idea on how to do this please e-mail at midwestmeteor@earthlink.net THANK YOU

I would check with some local home improvement contractors that do patio door replacements....

One panel of an old sliding patio door would make a nice top for that.

Just make sure its not Low E coated or it may reduce you cell production.

How rigid does the support panel have to be to avoid damaging the solar panel due temp. expansion and contraction and normal handling?

Just enough so it won't bend, I would leave 1/4 in for movement

Your welcome

They make good cold frames too for starting new plants in the spring if you do any gardening.
