Is all purpose drywall compound not strong enough?
Should I be using a mix of all purpose compound, and type "90" for my seams, instead of all purpose?

Will it be strong enough? Or will I have cracking?
Should I be switching and do a 50/50 mix?

All purpose will work fine. Cracking results when you try to put too much mud on in one layer and the drying of the mud causes it to crack.

Use thin coats and you'll be fine with all purpose.

Thanks for the response t.
I was told that all purpose does not have the strength in it, if there is going to be "movement" later on, and that it would crack.

Is that true.
I have only put on the tape so far with thinned down all purpose.

YM, as stated, it's fine (100% all purpose compound), when used with paper tape.

It's what it is designed to be used for.
