Aerated Autoclaved Concrete

Aerated Autoclaved Concrete (AAC) is a so called building material of the future, although it has been around since around the 1920s. Anyone here use the material for their house?

Does anyone know exactly how strong AAC is? It is like normal concrete except a lot lighter and more versatile. But is it as strong as normal concrete? If so is it even also stronger than the strongest stone?

I've never heard of the stuff, of course I haven't been around since the 20's.

Silverbackman, I am not familar with the product but a google search brought up many websites 45,000. From what I read this may well be the building material of the future and though "new" to the US market has a good track record world wide and seems to meet all the requirements for expanded use here.

As far as this board being lame, I think it provides general infomation that DIY folk are looking for in general remods. If I were you I would seek info from the manufactures of said product I'm sure that they could answer your questions and possiblity point you to web sites that would satisfy you.
