Adhesive for R MATT foam board

I'm installing 1/2" foam R MATT rigid foam over my T1-11. The guy at Home-Depot said I could just use adhesive instead of nails. Is there any advantage using nails over adhesive?? There will be less holes in the foam using the adhesive and it should be quicker also.

Hardi plank. I plan to tape all the seams on the foam.
