Adding a wall, what type of wood?

I'm installing (or extending rather) a wall in my house which has a concrete slab. I noticed that the 2x4 bottom plate that touches the concrete on the existing wall seems to be the color of pressure treated lumber. Should I use pressure treated lumber for the bottom plate of my new wall?

Yes.

Yes you should. You must also use hot-dipped galvanized nails for all nails that go into that treated material.
