Adding Vent to an Exterior Wall
I am working on venting a downdraft range under the kitchen cabinets and then venting to an outside wall. Before we put in the new cabinets we will have easy access to the interior portion of the wall that I need to go through.
The exterior of wall is cedar lap siding. The wall has both electrical and plumbing. Any suggestions as to how I locate where to cut the hole? Do I cut out a good size piece of sheet rock to locate any of the plumbing and electrical? Thanks for any ideas......I am somewhat apprehensive about cutting a hole in our house. Pat Mc |

Adding Vent to an Exterior Wall
use a long 1/4" drill bit at the center of where you need to place the duct and use this to mark from the inside to the outside. Then cut the sheetrock out and inspect what if anything needs to be moved.
