How do you guys get around up there when you can't see the trusses?
I'm toying with the idea of putting in some more fiberglass batts, but going perpendicular, getting around by feel, and putting the batts around those perpendicular trusses seems like a long slow tedious itchy etc job.
Would blown in fiberglass make a good topper?
I'm not into cellulose.
This time of year is perfect for insulating the attic, as you wont be sweating and getting fiberglass dust sticking all over you. Yes, it is a slow and tedious process, you will have to accept the fact that you are going to be itching for two days in the name of energy conservation. Our planet thanks you. Spend the time to make notches in the fiberglass where the rafters will touch the fiberglass, rather than compressing it. Don't allow the fiberglass to contact the underside of the roof deck, though, as this will block the draft from the soffit vents.
