Adding ceiling/floor in two story living room

Thanks for the info. I do plan on having an engineer look at this and give me the requirements. I am trying to get all the information I can before I have one over so I will know what he is talking about. I usually do alot of the remodeling myself but I try to be informed when doing so. I tend to overkill on projects anyway. When it says I can use a 2x6 I use 2x8 and so on.Thanks again, Tony
