to add or not to add

We are thinking about a new garage added to the front of our existing ranch style home. How difficult is it to add a garage in front of existing garage? We are mostly worried about the roof line.

Many localities restrict additions to the front of the house.

Compare the neighbor's setback and kinda guess if you will exceed it. Some cities even discourage garages at the front of the house and actually like it if it is out of sight and in the back.
