3d modeling diary of many changes to come

I work with 3d modeling and game programming so I thought I would model my planned changes for the new to us house before the physical work. My plan is to see how it will look, fit and feel before spending any time or money.

I use typically different 3d software than typical home design programs. While this gives me 100% freedom of the design down to every knob and lever, I will not have the advantage of off the shelf pick a button pre-modeled components.

The goal is to:
1. Model the house as is for my starting point
2. Next model the changes
3. Finally make a 3d walk through so you can really get a feel for the new layout

Here is the house and basement (where I will be starting the 3d design) and then the beginning of basement layout

Welcome to the forum! You may want to check your County Codes for finishing a basement first. Headroom is required as are egress sized windows from the basement and one in each sleeping room.

Thanks for the response. I may just turn it into a workshop since you can barely squeeze out of a car because the garage is pretty small.

Almost done modeling the house and I put it in the game engine I use for my other projects if anyone want to try a "walk around". Still alot of loose ends to tie up with lighting, mesh holes and artifacts... then can finally start modeling in some of the furniture, plumbing, ...
