my 3" drain vent pipe is going through the roof of my shed. was wondering:
1. what should i use to insulate the edges/trims of the circle opening to prevent water from dripping through? i am also concurrently building a deck and am acquiring some Vycor tape for ledger flashing insulation, was wondering if i can apply some of that?
2. what kind of cap should i get to go on top of the pipe to prevent stuff from falling in (like the stuff that people through out of flying objects, LOL) ?
go to home depot (other other similar store) and get a gasket for the pipe. I presume that this is the black ABS pipe. they make a rubber seal that slides on over the pipe and is installed when you are shingling. if it truly a vent, then no cap needed.
