3/4" long stainless or ACQ rated wood screws?
Anyone know where I can find wood screws that are 3/4" long that are stainless or ACQ rated?
I have to fasten a bunch of pipes (with copper pipe straps) onto 1x2 pressure treated furring strips. The 1x strips are 3/4" thick, so I need 3/4" long wood screws. The 1x strips sits over concrete block walls, hence they are pressure treated. I understand one must use ACQ rated or stainless screws or else they would corrode very quickly with the chemicals they use to treat lumber today. I looked at local home centers and yes they have ACQ rated screws but nothing that's 3/4" in length. I found 3/4" screws but they are zinc. Thoughts? |

Why not just use copper nails?

Copper nails, I am not sure Joe. I think the pipes vibration would eventually tease the nails back out. I guess I feel more comfortable with screws.

Both Lows and Home depot have 3/4" stainless steel screws with larger heads for attaching vinyl lattis. Look over where the lattis is.
