2nd floor porch over garage doors

I'm building a garage , 30'x30', with an apartment above. I'd like to build a large porch on the second floor gable end (which is also the end the 2-9'x8' garage doors are on). The porch will extend 8' out so I'll need to put supports down to the ground. So to enter the garage you'll need to drive under the porch and between the supports. I'm nervous someone might eventually bump the support post when driving in the garage, so I'm just looking for any ideas/suggestions on how to build this correctly and safely.

I don't think i'm able to canterlever the joist 8' out, I believe that would require atleast 8' sticking inside the structure to support the load. I was thinking of pouring my sonertubes and leaving about 3-4' above ground then connecting my 6x6 support to the top of them, just in case some decided to drive into the support. Or should i leave the tubes flush with the ground and install some "barrier" post in front of them, kinda like you see around gas pumps.

i'd probably have them extend above ground. just a personal preference and the area taken up could possibly be smaller than building a barrier around the 6x6?

any possibility having the porch extend farther to the sides supporting it that way?

I'm thinking I can put the supports to the left/right of each door opening by about 1 foot. So I may be overthinking this, but I'd hate for the wife to back into a support and knock the porch off.

consider putting down some curb block to make it harder to be 'off track' as she backs out.
